TV snub to Paralympics, could it backfire?

Viewers in the UK and much of Europe get daily and often Live Broadcasts of the Athens Paralympics. Reports indicate that the BBC's programme in the UK was getting 2 million viewers in the first few days. So what about the USA?

They have one of the largest teams of Paralympic athletes in Athens, but if the folks back home want to see some of the
Paralympic action they will need to wait until November. Six weeks after the Closing Ceremony.

This lack of interest by the US TV Networks is widely seen as a snub to the Paralympic Movement.

The Organizers of the campaign to host the 2012 Olympics in New York will not be pleased
that the Athens Paralympics has been
elbowed off TV in the US.

But will it affect the outcome to become the 2012 Olympic host city?

Maybe not, but Madrid, London and Paris (and their TV Companies) know that snubbing large Organisations doesn't usually work out too well.

The 2012 Olympic Host city is to be announced in July
