Wheelchair Basketball Match 3 BasketBall Main Page

Group A Round-Up Match 3 (Group B)

See Table

Italy v Brazil 67-50
GB v France 75-43
Australia v
Canada 38-66

GB finally found the net when the pressure for a win was on. GB produced an
outstanding performance, just when it was needed.

GB's Simon Munn
devastated the French defence scoring 11 from 15 under the basket.

Crucially GB converted their chances - in contrast to the previous 2 matches. Not out of the woods yet GB still need to beat Brazil in their next game to progress.

Brazil couldn't cope with the Italian European Champions in the first match of the day. Brazil went down 67-50.

Italy's Matteo Cavagnini was on top form scoring a staggering
12 baskets from 14 shots, Italian captain Fabio Raimondi sealed Brazil's fate with 18 points.

A disappointing first half display from Australia let Canada take this Group easily. Australia never really got into the match and the Canadian offence
didn't waste time in pressing home the advantage.

The match finished 38-66 and Australians will hope that every team has
one bad game in a tournament and that they can look ahead.
