Athlete : Curtis Palmer

Event : Wheelchair Rugby

Country : New Zealand

Curtis Palmer. New Zealand Wheelchair Rugby player.

Curtis Palmer, the New Zealand 2.5 pointer, hopes his experience will steer the NZ Wheelchair Rugby team to another Paralympic medal.

27 year old Curtis has more than ten years experience playing Wheelchair Rugby and prior to his accident, Rugby League.

The NZ Wheel Blacks' success in Sydney and Atlanta brought them and Curtis third place each time.

This time round the Rugby Event is again wide open and the Gold is up for grab - with NZ, Canada, USA and Great Britain the main contenders.

Having just completed his studies in Travel and Tourism and holding off from the job hunt until after the Paralympics means Curtis has no distractions in the run up to Athens.
