Group A Round-Up Match 4 (Group B thursday)

Table
France v Canada
43-63
Australia v Italy
57-52
GB v Brazil 66-57
GB produced an outstanding fightback
against Brazil when it looked all over. Behind and outplayed, by half-time
it looked like Brazil were heading into the next round. But in all sports
it's never over until the clock says it is.
An unbelievable 28-11 3rd quarter swung the
match around and put the Brazilian team on the
defensive.
GB's Jon Pollock and Simon Munn both produced stunning shooting grabbing 23
and 19 points respectively.
Not that the Brazilians did anything wrong - they were just outplayed on the
night by an experienced GB team.
Canada put on another display of top
class basketball, comfortably overcoming the French. France haven't
looked comfortable the whole tournament and look certain to finish bottom
of group A. Who will stop Canada?
In another match that switched direction
at half-time, the Australian team put in a professional performance beating
Italy 57 - 52. Troy Sachs and Brad Ness, who plays in Italy, strung together
the points (18 and 25 each) to put Australia into
the next round.
Italy will be disappointed they didn't build on their early lead and may have
to settle for fourth spot in this group
