Group B Day 2 Round-Up (Group A here)
See
Table
USA 73 v Iran 50
Greece 34 v Holland 95
Germany 79 v
Japan 58
The second set of games in Group B saw no
surprises. Greece failed to convert what few chances they had, leaving
the Dutch to get a confidence boost after
Saturdays defeat to the Germans.
Little more than a practice match for the Dutch who dominated throughout,
giving a demonstration to the more than 1700 spectators. With a points win
margin of more than 60 it's difficult to
call this a sporting event.
Disappointingly for the neutral spectator, all three of this
morning's matches finished with more than 20 point winning margins.
Predictably the USA cruised home against
Iran with top scorer and US team captain Jeremy
Lade netted 19 points.
Iran will be hoping they can take advantage of a demoralised
Japan in tomorrow's crucial game between
the two sides. Japan are 2
defeats from 2 games and both sides need this win if they are to have
a chance of progressing.
Admittedly the Japanese have lost against first class opponents and have themselves
not played badly.
Germany will be confident of the next round, having done the hard work against
Holland and Japan.
